I liked the comment that my teacher has put on my learner profile and Mr Fraser's comment too. I like how many thing I have achieved this year in maths, read and writing way than I expected. I had lots of hard things that I achieved and some that I still need a little work on. Next year I will try to achieve all of my goals and ones from last this year

There is a new car been made which can fly and and I was able to test drive it and here's what I think. It flys very well and runs on helium for fuel that’s what makes it float a little and also normal fuel. One of the engines is a massive balloon that compresses air to make it go up, when it’s up the second engine starts which is a planes jets. It has two modes cruise mode and race mode for sky races. This is a easy car to handle you basically just type where you want to go and it will take you there. Its super easy to get a parking spot because you can do sky park or ground park so if there is no parks you can sky park. If any flying animals come to close there are automatic air blowers that push them two metres away. If I were to mark this out of 10 it would have to be a 7/10 because there are bad things like the first engine can break easily because of its balloon and it quite expensive to buy and it is expensive because the helium and the normal gas.

A letter to the government wanting to put up surveillance camera’s everywhere or to not! Letter one “against the idea” going to newspaper GOVERNMENT I am totally against this idea to put a sneaky cameras that watch our privacy and see what we do all day long. There’s lots of reasons that we shouldn’t do this and the top one is privacy what if a family is a having a nice family meal or picnic knowing that they are being watched by someone else. Letter two “ supports the plan” going to newspaper Hi this a family that totally supports this idea these cameras will help if someone is coming into your house to steal something or unwanted visits. The first letter in the newspaper is totally wrong it’s good to be watched what if something happens like medical stuff like choking getting injured or even death, these cameras SHOULD be put up. APP For next year we have already got our avatars for the role ready this is my avatar for next year, it is much better than last year's one because at the start of the year when I made mine I had no hair so I had to make my guy without hair. Last week the year 6’s came over to do some activities with us and the teachers and they also made their avatars for next year ready for next year. My avatar has a blue background and I have blackish hair with a white singlet and brown hazel eyes, with a light tan skin.

On Saturday there was a unexpected visit from my sister because she was in town and she came over for a bit with her boyfriend and my brother mentioned that when she was leaving they were going to the zoo with my dad and cousins and they said we could go but they couldn't get us back and when we were done they were going back to my sisters boyfriends house and my mum said she’ll pick us up from there. So we got ready and got dressed and we went to the zoo in Cam’s car (sister's boyfriend) when we got there it was quite hard to find a spot to park and when we did we got our wristbands and our food vouchers, the reason we went was because at my grandad’s work at the end of every year they go out to a place and this year it was the zoo. We looked at all the zoo animals and my baby sister loved all of the animals, her favourite one was the elephants because they were really big and they moved around the most, so she was most interested I think the one she disliked the most was...

I like the quiet zone because it's not loud and you can work independently without being interrupted. I't is also comfortable for work.

I chose this quote because at the end of the school year I am suddenly happy.

This week it was just normal week but on Wednesday because of calf club the people who didn't have a animal had to bring some things for an activate that we were doing at school. We had to bring a tray or plate with old toys etc. I worked with Heath and we made a boxing ring with my block heads and we made the ring out stuff the teacher gave us to use. We also got some of the bush branches from outside, then later that day the other classes came to have a look at what we did. On Thursday we had tech and we have almost finished our second armillary sphere, we also did our house team challenge and we did a famous faces comp we got third and Weka won.

What am I going to do to make sure I make the most of term 4 This term I want to make sure that I ask more questions and finish all of my work.  I want to manage my time by making times for brain breaks like drinking water and huff n puff. I want to make the right decisions where I sit and who I sit with and what learning I do. I want to be sensible during class.

Today the people in my class who didn't have a animal for calf club had to make a miniature garden, and me a Heath made a boxing ring with my Block heads that I got from the Z. We had to bring a tray, toys etc and other items. At school we we provided with sand a branches, bushes and crafty materials like fabric, that fluffy wire stuff, Popsicle sticks and hot glue. First we made the ring then glued it together, then we got branches and stuck them in the ground, then we added the people fighting and also the crowd. After we all finished the other classes came in and had a look and we had to talk to them and tell them about what we did and that sort of stuff.

This week our goal was Winning or losing does not define who I am, our attitude and how we hold our self does. I don't really know how to reflect on this goal because I have had this challenge at school. I have had a alright attitude this week although.

This year at school to celebrate Daffodil Day our school did a dress up thing where we had to dress as what we want to be when were older and bring a gold coin donation. I dressed as a tap out wrestler but it didn't look like it, I also want to be a police when I grow up or a professional rugby player and play for chiefs and all blacks. Daffodil Day is all about giving and donating to people with cancer and helping them with there cancer. In the morning we all went out side to so the events leaders can pick some winners for Moana, Whetu and Marama. The winners got a certificate and a chocolate bar, my friend got a prize and he was a diver.  

Movie maker: Galloping down the road old Trumpet is taking Da and Stanley to take the puppies to be sold, Trumpet is so old it it must be tiring. As the slowly arrive at the Lee’s house they see a group of men with gaspy half breeds with rough coats. Da walks to Lee as Lee is making bacon on the bbq, Da asked him if he wanted some dogs, meanwhile Stanley is getting out Soldier out of the trap as all the dogs cry. This year is the 2016 Rio Olympics and I’ve been watching some of the events this year including weightlifting, volleyball, water polo, hockey, boxing, rowing, fencing, judo and shot put. Weightlifting was probably my favorite event so far because it’s really intense seeing all of the weightlifters faces and expression and its so satisfying when you see someone lift something so heavy, I watched the snatch first the then the clean & jerk and the clean & jerk is a lot heavy than the snatch weights, snatch weightlifting is when you have to do the lift all at once then clean & jerk it is heavier because you left it on to your chest then stop get into position and push it right up. Our NZ weight lifter lifted 149 kgs in snatch then the winners both got 179 kgs then I only watched about half of the clean & jerk which someone got up to 210 kgs.

Da will try to kill all of the puppies and Stanley will run away and take as many pups as he can with Rocket too. I also think Stanley will find Tom we Stanley is older and he joins the army and goes to war with Soldier who helps him a lot to find Tom which was Stanleys mission to do in the first place but when he find Tom he is six feet under, berried by fellow army men. But he Stanley will go back home to find out that Da dies after the war and Stanley will get notified by a messenger. Many years later Stanley and Soldier stay together and will live heaps of other dogs and will be rich by winning dog competitions.  

What we did We didn't have much options to pick from because there was books and objects on tables and we had post it notes to write questions down that we were curious about then look around. Questions and interests I had: Gangsta suits 1.Why were suits explained as gangsta in London? 2.Do they still wear them now days? Tea 1.How did they know the leaves they use would taste so good? 2.Were/Who was tea invented? Thermometer 1.How does it know? 2.How many types are they.

4/7/16 Tawa’s KingFisher Legend Once was a maori boy named Rungu Williams who lived on his own and he loved to see birds fly by and he also love fishing. He always makes fishing things out of flax and he feeds the birds too with fish. He knows lots of birds but only one bird he doesn't know, because it only comes when he catches kingfish and normally there is the same bird. One day he had a cage ready to for when he caught a kingfish, it took him days but finally he caught a kingfish and the kingfisher was right there. He had the cage ready to catch him and SNAP he caught him, 4 months later Rungu had taught the bird to catch giant kingfish. The bird taught it self some tricks too and soon the bird was catching monster fish as big as a cruise ship. After a couple of weeks Rungu Williams was rich he sold all of his fish to fishermen and shops, he (Rungu Williams) brought a massive house and everything he needed. This term we have started a Book Bash group and we are reading Solider Dog and i'm reading it with Finn, Liam, Lennex, Navdeep, Mason, Callum C and Jayden we recently we doing tic tac toe reading but now we found a book to read. We don't know what the books about yet because we haven't read any of it because another group is still reading the end of it when they finish on Wednesday we'll be starting our reading and getting our roles to do. When we start it will be another job to do for the week.

Last term and some of this term we did our Mural Art, we first had to think about some things about our self's like cultures and parts of the world/country that we are know to or family lives there. Then we had to get a piece of paper that had five sections for drawing some symbols about yourself then writing there meanings next to them. We started drafting on a bit of paper of what it would look like then colouring it in. We did a better drawing in our art books then marking what colours would go where. We then did a good copy on the piece of paper given to us by Mrs Hull, then we practised our water colours and then started water colouring our art. Everything means something on the murals

Holiday Report On Morgan In the holidays Morgan went to her gran house to celebrate her release of her book, she went with her whole family. The book is about the history of Ngatea and she’ll be giving her books to schools and play centres. They had lots of food that related to the book, Morgan said that it was scary because she didn’t know exactly what she was going to eat. She went there on the first week of the holiday, Morgan's favourite part was seeing her family and her gran reading her book to them.

This week was Maori language week and our class did lots of things to contribute to it, we made Art with our pencils and we got to chose a detailing choice and I chose to do water colours and my bird was a Kotare (King Fisher) We made a our own legend about a native bird We made poi's And sung lots of Maori songs.

Yesterday 23/6/16 when I got home from school I walk inside to see a tank because for ages I've been wanting fish so I ask where is the fish and my mum told me to look on the floor and in a bucket there is a ice- cream container with two black Axolotls and I picked the bigger one and Tumai (my brother) got the littler one then I took a closer look and in the bucket I saw a tail, then I lifted up the container with the axolotls in it and there was a baby freshwater eel. We boiled some hot water and put it into the tank then went and brought some ice to cool it down to 20 degrees and putting the axolotls in was tricky but we did then the eel was so calm and tamed. Apparently you are not supposed to put axolotls with other creatures but the person we got it off said that the eel and axolotls are getting on fine and they still are now. My axolotls name is Mr Midnight, Tumai's one I don't know because he has changed it so many times and the baby fresh water eels name is Mr Haz...

Government Pays For People To Move From Auckland New Zealand government is paying anyone from Auckland to move to another part of the country and be payed $5,000 in cash. Auckland Is trying to make an effort to tackle housing crisis, New Zealand Government has seen housing prices fly up in the last couple of years and has been leaving families in dire conditions. My opinion: I think it is good also bad because I thinks its good the government is trying to help other families but I also think it’s bad because they're trying to make people move from there home and they could stop immigrants from coming in and make the house prices lower. My Questions Who agrees with this? Why is The Government letting Immigrants take New Zealanders house and land? If you were wondering Dire means extremely serious or urgent. This week on Monday we had to share our IE with our learning teams and all parents and other family members were invited. MY presentation was on police which we had to work on with our creation after that we had to do a reflection and give feedback to another person in our learning team. May 2016 One family went on a holiday and went to a zoo called Cincinnati’s zoo the 4 year old boy fell into a gorilla enclosure and was badly injured after being dragged and thrown around the enclosure in shin deep water. After ten minutes the zoo keepers and firemen and police had to make the decision to shoot the gorilla dead. They didn't use a tranquillizer because it takes too long and that would make it angry and the gorilla would really badly hurt the boy. This gorilla was a rare type of gorilla 17 years old and only been there for 4 years in the zoo they were looking forward to breeding them to have more rare gorillas the his name was Harambe. Also there were two other female gorillas in the enclosure but the zoo keepers got them out. The boy was taken to a hospital and is now recovering. It was not the gorillas fault in my eyes the boy should have not been trying to get in there and the gorilla didn't know what to do. Click here to watch video

These last four weeks we have been doing metal for tech and we made a candle holder out of brass. First we got a square piece and cut in in to a circle shape the file it into a really circle shape, Then we got a rectangle piece and measured 35 cm in from each side and then bent both of the sides so they are parallel. Next we got a real thin piece for the handle we estimated 4 mm and bent the top of it then we put it around a pole and bent it to the right shape for the base. Mr Chivers put our circle into the centre lathe and made a bowl for the candle to stay in. Once we had all the pieces right we soldered all the pieces that needed to be stuck together once we were finished the solder dried to quick so we and of the pieces in right place and put them on a brick and the teacher blow torched it and made the solder melt again. We cooled it in water and we had to finish up next week and polish them so they look good and maybe if we need to we will use emery tape to take of the solder t...

This week our goal is: To organise myself to be ready to learn. I know I need to take a break from my learning. To achieve this I will have a better sleep go to bed earlier. Have a healthy breakfast in the morning. Half an hour before lunch or so and drink some water and regally drink water That was our goal last week I did achieve my first one I was going to bed at the right time at nine o'clock and asleep at nine fifteen. I did not achieve having a healthy breakfast because I did have much time to because I got up at eight o'clock every morning because I love to sleep in then I have a shower and stuff like that. I achieved the last one definitely because I was drinking loads of water and I did have little healthy snacks like fruit and things like that during class time and also having a break like a run every now and then.

What skills do I have that help me in writing? I am really good at punctuation and using metaphors and smiles I use these skills in all my writing. What can I offer to others in writing (Writing club or workshops) Workshops or maybe just a quick talk to others. What do I think makes a good writer? All of the writing skills possible, detail, making sense and good editing What am I interested in writing about? I love poems because I like to rhyme with them and I like bio- graphs. What is your biggest challenge or obstacle as a writer? Making my writing interesting and people want to read it.

Christchurch fields to dry to play Rugby Many rugby games in Christchurch have been moved because of dry grounds because they are in the middle of a drought and there are water restrictions in mid Canterbury. Canterbury Union is worried about their players getting injured it could corse concussion and fractures. Many many people play rugby each week in Canterbury but none of the moved games needed to be cancelled.

14 Year Old Boy Turns Down $44 Million Taylor Rosenthal has made his own vending machine with first aid tools. He started this project when he was travelling to all of his baseball games he saw that parents were always looking for bandages for cuts and things. Now that he made his project it is at theme parks, hotels and lots more. He was offered a $44 million offer to take over the takeover but he turned it down.

This week our goal was to chose the learning for the right space. This week I wasn't too bad Monday I did sit with my friends, Tuesday I did sit with someone that I don't really play with at lunch and after school, we worked on our AWS together then he went and did some other work and I went and read a book. Yesterday I sat on my own in the quiet zone by then soon my friend came and sat next to me and I did end up talking to him. Today I was good, so far.  This week I think I have almost achieved my goal.

What I am good at in school. 1.Asking for help... Teachers, sister, mum and dad. 2.Having the opportunity to change how I learn. How does this effect others? 1.Showing that you don't always have to do things on your own . 2.Showing other people there is more ways to learn. What I need to focus more on. 1.Celebrating my failures 2. Forgetting about friends for a while Why?  1. Because I mostly just get mad, angry, just walk away or ignore others. But I am good sometimes. 2.Because they can be distracting and not helpful at times.   

TK Performance This morning TK college came to our school to perform some songs on some musical instruments including the trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, flute, bass and drums. They played many cool songs and I think I knew all of them my favourite one was the theme song for The Incredibles. During the performance some of the students got to play on the trumpet and trombone then some other people got to do some conducting. Some songs they played were let it go from the movie frozen, Thriller and Man In The Mirror and The Incredibles Theme Song but that’s only what I remember. One of my other favourite parts were when the drummer and bass guitar did a duet thing that was really cool.

RAD RHYTHM This term for music we have been doing sessions with music and we have been watching videos of some beats and how to read notes and lots of other things. We go once or twice a week and by the end we should know a performance piece that we are learning with rubbish bins and drum sticks and do lots of things in a group. We also play games like copycat when you have to copy someone's actions and beats with our hands. We do things in our work books like answering questions and drawing, We all go in separate classes or learning groups.  

I can make positive choices that are right for my OWN learning This week we I did alright and making my OWN choices I didn't always sit away from my friends but when I did I did my OWN learning by listen to music. I made this choice because I think it was the best way to help my learning and to complete all the tasked I can. This really did help me by how many blog posts I got done and other tasks. This was a really good goal and I think I'm going to use this all the time because it will make me and my learning through out the school year.                                                                        

3D Cat Armor This is old news but I found it and I thought it was cool, anyway cat lover decided to make a cat armor for his cat with a 3D printer so his cat looked like the toughest cat and also safe and cool. It also says make your own design of a helmet because he didn't have one yet and who ever makes the best design gets the body armor to go with there own helmet.

Python Swallows BBQ tongs A python in Australia was waiting for his food and the owner was coming over to his cage to feed him a rat as he gave it to him and the hungry python grabbed the tongs with his mouth and wouldn't let go and the owner couldn't get it of him so he left it there with the snake. He came back later on to check on him and to see that he had swallowed the whole thing and the owner took him the the vets and the vet couldn't believe how he did it, The vet did surgery on the snake without out hurting him and soon enough he was back and running.

EASTER Weekend This Easter I went to my dad’s house and we went to the Easter Show and went on a couple of rides and one of them made me and dad really sick then we the next day we went to Sylvia Park and got some things for easter dad got me a mug with chocolate in it and my brother got a M&Ms thing that had a button you twist and then the M&Ms come out. Then we got Macas for lunch and went home. The day before we left to go back to mums we went to get lunch and we got BK then went home with mum and then later on that day we went to get our easter stuff from mum then. The last day Tuseday Logan came over for the day and we did a couple of things then he went home and we had dinner and went to sleep.

Skimming & Scanning These are some types of reading qualities. SKIMMING is way to read when you want to know a couple of things you just want to flick back and check for the part you are looking for. SCANNING is a way to read when you want to find keywords and when you find it with your eyes your just scan through till you find the word etc.

FART PROOF UNDIES A company in UK invented some fart-proof undies with some technology in them they can only be used once then be reactivated when been washed. The spokesperson for the company wants to make a difference affecting millions of people. The price for these are a lot $39 for briefs and $45 for boxers. I think this will be really useful for lots of people.

Food Tech This year for tech I was in food we made six things over the four weeks we were there. We made Mini Pizza first, Juice, Smoothie, Scones, Pikelets and last we made Chicken Burgers. My favourite two were smoothies and burgers because the burgers we got to fry the chicken marinaded and fry with the onions we were in groups of two so Nathan (my buddie) was cutting and grating the veges. These four weeks have been fun thank you Ms Leuthart.

Police make handcuffs bigger The NEW ZEALAND Police force has announced that they need bigger handcuffs because some of the criminals have big wrists and can’t fit the handcuffs on them. Lots of other police officers have had a problem when that happens. I think that the police force should carry different sizes small and big. In the future I would like to a police officer and hopefully I do get to be one!

Asteroid flies close by Earth Early Tuesday Morning around 3 A.M  an asteroid passed by earth and someone found out that it will pass again in a few years time but it won’t hit in about 100 years time. It was found twice the size of the one that hit Russia in February 2013 and that asteroid send fireballs crashing to earth and injured 1200 and made windows shatter over a wide space.

Ice-cream in a bag As a classroom experiment you can make Ice-Cream in a bag and you can make it at home as well. its really simple, Best part is you only need a few ingredients: 1/2 cup whipping cream 2 Tablespoons icing sugar Few drops of vanilla essence Ice and Salt Zip lock bags (A big one and a smaller one) If you need any help watch the video .
