10 Facts about the saber tooth tigers


  1. They went extinct about 12,000 years ago.
  2. They were alive for 42 million years until the last ice age and humanity started evolving and the sabers couldn’t find enough prey because they had competition.
  3. I would have never known but they have a surprisingly weak jaw.
  4. The saber tooth tiger's canines  (teeth) were almost a foot long.
  5. Smilodon wasn’t the only saber tooth tiger.
  6. The Saber tooth tigers may have lived in packs because scientists looked at the fossils and said most of them died from old age so they must of had some protection from other sabers.
